Oceans Twelve

George, Brad, Matt, Andy plus bonus extras in the form of Bruce Willis and Eddie Izzard. What more could anyone want from a film???? Well a reasonable plot would have been nice, but you can't have everything.

Oh and the doors been left wide open for another sequel (presumably Oceans Thirteen).

Watch This For: A veritable feast of male gorgeousness.

Watch Out For: A great cameo from Topher Grace playing himself as you could never imagine him to be. He never struck me as the Rock n' Roll type.

Shall We Dance

A remake of a smallish japanese film. The original probably works quite well, but it doesn't translate to a western world. The reviews would have you believe that Gere's character is trying to embark on an affair with J-Lo, however I didn't really get that from the film. J-Lo's character is about as far from her public persona as you can get; she's weak, quiet, spineless and almost disturbingly submissive. Definitely not the strong female lead needed to make the most of Gere.

Disappointing, very disappointing.

Watch This If: you've finished all your laundry, cleaned the bathroom, hoovered the house, fed the dog, done all your bring home work and the only thing on TV is the 'River City' omnibus

Watch Out For: There is absolutely nothing remarkable about this film (sadly not even the dancing!)

Gone With The Wind

Ahhh.... The demise of the Grand Ole South..... A great film. Was being shown at the GFT as part of the Glasgow Film Festival. It even had an interval (a first for me!)

Watch This If: you love Scarlett O'Hara as much as me!!!

Watch Out For: Mammie - a true comic actress

Meet The Fockers

The follow up to Meet The Parents. As this was a sequel I wasn't expecting too much but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It's not a laugh a minute, but its amusing. Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman are the newcomers as the hippy parents of Ben Stiller. De Niro is brilliant as the straight laced father of the bride.

Watch This If: It's raining outside and you need an easy laugh

Watch Out For: Hoffman and Babs' sex scene.....

House of Flying Daggers

Think perhaps I should've stuck to my initial thoughts - "Its a Japanese Samurai film, I'm a girl..... ". But with nothing better to do on a Saturday night myself and two mates decided to bite the bullet (or dagger in this case). What can I say...... The film is beautifully shot, the scenery is nothing short of amazing.... I had no idea Japan was so green. It was also nice to watch a film where the women constantly outsmarted everyone (including the audience). Without spoiling the plot, it's safe to say there's more than a bit of double crossing going on. It's very confusing. But I'm assured that it was a great movie. I have no idea. It's got a bit of weird ending - the big fight that everything's gearing up to doesn't happen and I'm not really sure why...... Maybe someone will explain it to me someday.

Watch This If: you can follow complicated films

Watch Out For: the home made bamboo daggers.....

Million Dollar Baby

Excellent movie. Bit brutal towards the end, but worth it. Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood are perfectly cast opposite each other - each as stubborn as the other.

Watch This: even if you're not a Clint fan.

Watch Out For: Clint resetting Swank's nose.... (eeuuuggghhh!)
